A Couple of Ways that i can journey with you

Accompaniment

Within the noise, distractions, and demands within the push and pull of life, we can begin to feel fragmented, disconnected, our own internal landscapes feeling farther away and more unknown.

Spiritual accompaniment (also known as spiritual direction) is an ancient reflective practice where you are given space to slow down, to pay loving attention to the deep movements of your own soul, to explore questions arising within you of vocation, desire and longing, truth, and connection – with yourself, with others and with the ‘Holy Other’ of your faith expression.

As a spiritual director, my role is to accompany you on that journey into your inner landscape, to listen, to bear witness. And then to ask questions that help you to notice connections, make your own discoveries, and engage in your own internal experience and the larger story of your life.

My hope is that through this ancient practice, you will live more fully and navigate this life with a deeper awareness of the “sacred ordinary” around and within you, leading to a greater sense of integration and increasing wholeness.

Though I trained with and work primarily within the Christian tradition of spiritual accompaniment, I offer accompaniment to those of all faiths and none. I will honour and respect your beliefs and work within the boundaries you as for. And if you are struggling with your faith, I would be deeply honoured to walk that difficult, disorienting journey with you.

I host our time together within my own home in a room set aside and decorated for this purpose. However, I am also happy to walk together for our session. Time spent in movement out in nature is often healing in and of itself. I am also happy to meet online if you live outside of a reasonable traveling distance.

My standard fees are £25 for an hour’s session and typically we would meet once a month. If finances are a barrier to you, please contact me and let’s explore together how to best remove that barrier.

I am a certified Spiritual Director, having trained with Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction certificate program and completed my Introduction to Spiritual Accompaniment in 2021 with the Jesuits in Britain through their Ignatian Spirituality Centre. I also hold a Certificate in Contemporary Chaplaincy through Waverley Abbey College.

Retreats

Would you like to go on retreat but feel unable to give more than a day to it? Maybe you aren’t sure where to go or you simply can’t afford the cost of an actual retreat centre. Maybe you love the idea of a retreat all on your own somewhere but aren’t certain how to structure it. Or you know a retreat would benefit you but the idea of solitude intimidates you. I would love to help!

I have 18 years of experience in creating and running interactive, creative quiet spaces, reflective spaces and prayer rooms, as well as creating and facilitating reflective activities and tools. I also have 10 years experience in facilitating both online and residential retreats for individuals as well as groups. Having worked in these settings with a variety of personalities, age groups, life backgrounds and expressions of faith, I have a good sense of what is needed by those looking to retreat.

I would be happy to send you a retreat guide for your retreat, prayerfully curated for you and your personal context. I would also be happy to host your retreat day here in the beautiful seaside town of Dunbar. I would structure and guide your retreat day, including time for spiritual accompaniment within the day if wanted.

Contact me below to discuss what you are looking for and the relevant fees. Again, please do not let cost be a barrier.

A good journey begins with knowing where we are and being willing to go somewhere else.” Richard Rohr
